In round one I was paired against the experienced Grandmaster Leonid Gofshtein. It was a very exciting game but far from perfect.
I do seem to have a problem with my starts in tournaments, with a number of bad round one results over the years. Like an old car, I guess, that sometimes, I just need a bit of warming up…
The game was a Classical Dutch, where I was very happy with the outcome of the opening. I have analysed the game below in a video and with some notes.
